10, 000!!! 10,000 human beings that have had no access to lawyers or any kind of just legal system. 10,000 people who have not had access to their families and homes. 10,000 who may never see the light of day again.
I do not know why people cannot see the blatant hypocrisy and two-facedness of the US and Israel regimes. It sickens me to live in a world that can hold such people.
Palestine is a topic I could talk about forever and I wish people would give it the attention it deserves. Because as long as the world sits back and lets governments do what they wish without fear of reprisals we will keep getting repeats of mass genocides like Sabra and Shattilla, like Bosnia, like Kosovo, like Darfur.....
What are the world leaders doing about these cases of human suffering? Nothing. Nothing substantial at least - they mouth of platitude as fast as they can fill their lungs with air to speak yet their actions do not follow their words. The do not practice what they preach and human suffering becomes a sickness, a "casualty" of the great race to make money and be powerful.
Men.
On Friday we were supposed to have a certain channel come do some filming at the school as the school has won an award at their event.
The cameraman/men were supposed to arrive at 11.30 and instead arrived at around 2.30pm. No apologise, minimal explanations offered. As a professional organisation, a school we had informed the channel that we could not allow filming beyond a certain time due to another event taking place.
The Director of this channel called the school and tried to blame us for everything! He was rude, insulting, arrogant and down right irritating down the fone. He refused to listen to anything I had to say, though I was being extremely polite; he accused us of being uncooperative and threatened to bad-mouth us on his channel!!!
I was shocked that someone perceived as an upstanding leader of the Muslim community could be so hypocritical and speak so rudely to a Muslim sister in islam - who was just trying to a)do her job and b) not kill him.
I am sick to death of incompetent Muslim men running everything! They cant do anything right!
I have been a part of numerous Muslim organisations and each and every one of those had men in charge and each and everyone of those men let me down, let the Ummah down and downright disappointed me with the unIslamic attitudes that they have. They think they are so religious but their religion is their pride and their pomposity.
They piss me off. If you cant do a job right, with fairness, justice, equality, politeness and true Islamic ethos then step back and let us women do it - cos I guarantee I cud do ur job better. At the very least, I'd be honest enough to stand up and say when i couldnt cope or if there was something I couldnt do.
Men I find bungle on cos they cannot stand to say they cannot do something - so instead they blame you for it.
I read the stories of the Prophets and their companions and I wonder, where have men like these gone? Why are they no longer like this? Why are men such pansies nowadays?
They cannot stand up properly for their religion, for their country, for their identity, for their families......... what can they do?
Why is it that when I look around me I see the sisters on the forefronts trying to do everything they can? Trying to sort out Muslim Scouts, trying to organise events, trying to clean up the mess the men make, trying to deal with the raw deal men deal women every day, trying to portray Islam in the best way possible.......... I see the women doing these things. Not men.
Men I see creating problems.
I am so frustrated with the state of the Ummah (muslim nation) today - it makes my blood boil.
What makes it worse is that I dont see any Muslim man. No one who makes the grade. Who inspires me like the sahabah did, with their bravery and intelligence and cleverness.
"Get married" people say to me all the time - as if that will cure all my very numerous problems.
How can I marry when every guy I have ever met has disappointed me when comes down to the crunch???

can't just get married to any ole' tom dick and harry!
actually Tom, Dick or Harry will probably be more inspirational than Tamim, Dawood or Harris!
