Also, Cub Scouts is way cool :-)
We had a big Faith is Fun session hosted by Noor Cub Scouts at Islah Centre and it was a HUGE success. We had about 80 Cubs attending together with lots of Leaders. Everyone, even us Leaders, were very impressed by the turn out and how well it all went. Alhamdulillah everything went smoothly thanks mainly to Melike's amazing hard work! May Allah bless her and Bilal! Also they are moving into their new home - I dont know about them but I'm really excited! lol
It was great to see kids and adults from these three main religions, Christianity, Islam and
Judaism intermingling and having fun. Exploring faith, different faiths, and why it is so important to us all. We had a wudhu station, which Melike, bless her little cotton socks, calls Woodoo (suspicially like Voodoo!)!
We also had the Christian section which had a Vicar doing a talk, wish I cud have heard that! They also did did a Nativity Game which was somehow, not sure how, a relation to Cluedo (??!?!?!?!?).
And of course, we had some Jewish Cub Leaders doing something about Hanaka and playing a game which involved M&Ms (very clever) and a spinning top-thingy. I dont know what it was all about but I wanted those M&Ms!!!! And of course the kids loved it! - hey, who wouldn't, chocolate was involved!
The kids behaved fantastically well - they especially seemed to enjoy wudhu, in fact some of the leaders remarked that they had never seen boys enjoy washing so much! lol I, myself, heard a boy remark that he was gonna tell his mum that he was doing wudhu everyday so he wouldnt have to take a shower every morning!!! Bless!
