Induction..

First day on the job: Induction Training. 12pm-6pm.

May I say, some of the most boring, mind-numbing 6 hours of my life. I dont know how I got through them, they just seemed never ending. I realise it has to be done - that doesnt make it anymore enjoyable though!

All that paperwork, reading and listening - definately numbed my brain, also all that sitting numbed by bum!

But hey - my first day at work. The training continues tomorrow - on the tills. Lets hope its
more... entertaining. I cant wait for my first check - I'm gonna buy something. Something inexpensive ofcourse - I have debts to pay off first.... but just to celebrate my first paycheck. Also will give a bit to charity, to bless my new work and to add some barakah/reward.

But - anyone have any ideas what I can have as my first buy???

Assalaamu 'alaykum

Buy a train ticket to manch :D

Or buy a Qur'an and give it to someone who wants to be guided.

Or buy some food and feed a miskeen for iftar.

Or buy shares in a British water company stationed in Africa and vote NO to their huge connection fees and NO to their taking of people's water illegally, immorally and unfairly and vote NO to practically any greedy money making proposition they have. Water is a human right dude, not something to steal!

Sorry, I feel very passionately about water.

Actually I feel passionately about alot of things....

Tahnia let me give you some advice; with your first paycheck do something that will change the way you live. Because though we aren't materlistic people we do have this expectation in our standard of living. I mean, isn't it ironic how we march against the war in Iraq and then, straight after, go home in our petrol fuelled cars?!? And we HATE it when oil prices go up! My brothers and sisters seriously think...the war in Iraq isn't gonna stop coz we march and shout...it's only gonna stop when we don't expect oil on tap. And that's only gonna happen when we change the way we live and we walk more or summat.

(Sorry for the rant :$...congrats on the job :D)

Wa'laykum assalaam
