Guantanamo

The front page of todays Independent Newspaper.... a child wondering when his dad will come home. What must this child feel... not knowing when he might see his father again, IF he might see his father again, knowing his own government, who is supposed to protect him and look after him, is betraying him and his father, that his own Prime Minister couldnt care less?

Its a sorry state of affairs that we live in a world where a mans basic human rights can be snatched away by those who call themselves morally superior?This man was arrested because of what? He hasnt been charges, hasnt had a trial, has probably been tortured repeatedly over the last 4 years.

4 years - its a hell of a long time to spend in jail. Not that Guantanamo bay is a jail.... it is essentially a concentration camp. Seems to me the Americans miss the good old days, when no one questioned the status quo, when you could pick a man off the streets and he would "disappear" into custody, when what the government said was the final word, when a mans rights could be ignored willy nilly.......

Lets not forget this is not about 1 man. Its about the 400 prisoners in Guantanamo Bay. Its about the 14, 000 prisoners held in similar prisons by America around the world.
WHERE are the rights of these people? Or is it once again the case of "all are equal but some are more equal than others"? Are Americans better than us? They sure as hell get treated as tho they are ( I know they are not!!!And I can prove it.)

I thought we had been thru this lesson in history already.... as any Jew or PoW.... they'll tell u all about the mighty Hitler and his secret prisons, his torture, his belief that anyone was that disagreed was against him, that it was "my way or the highway" or "ur either with us or against us"......

The world isnt black and white but morals....... they have no gray. Either something is right or it is wrong.

It is WRONG to imprison someone without trial.
It is WRONG to hold someone in prison for years without charge.
It is WRONG to torture.
It is WRONG to rape.
It is WRONG to trust George W Bush or Tony Blair, that way leads to betrayal.

Guantanamo Bay is WRONG. It shouldnt exist, neither should any of its brother or sister prisons........ The American administration is WRONG.

They are NOT making the world a better place..... they are making it a much, much worse place.
A place where no one can be trusted to uphold the law, to uphold rights,and justice, and honour, where anything goes.

Mr. Bush claims to be a Christian - ha! What a laugh. There is NOTHING Christian about him.... Jesus would be the first to condemn him. What would Jesus have to say about the 100,000s dead and suffering in Afghanistan, about the 1000s suffering in your illegal jails, about the 600,000 dead in Iraq????? Do you think Jesus would understand?? I think not, Mr Bush.

If I had to chose who I most feared.... I would chose the American government. At least the so-called terrorists are honest. Hypocrisy, however, is always to be feared.
