whitey's big evening

Ok so yesterday was Whitey's akid - the day she got married Islamically speaking.

I mean wow. I'm finding it so hard to absorb.

I left work and met whitey so we could get out hair and makeup done which was weird. By the end she looked beyond stunning, beyond gorgeous MashAllah! I would have married her myself! lol

KayBee then picked us up and we major rushed back to Whitey's cos her mum was like "where r uuuuuuuuuu?"

Once home it was organised chaos of a sort. Dragging on of dresses, screaming, panicking, jewelry, checking make up - the whole girly shebang. Girls, u know how it is! :-)

Then rushed over to the house which was hosting. I think when WHitey got to the door it hit her more solidly that today she was marrying. I could see her anxiousness on that doorstep. Wallahi I felt for her!

Once inside the room looked magnificent - amazing flower bouquets were everywhere and Sondes was, of course, the crowning jewel for it all.

We dances, we sang, we took about 50,000 fotos - altho not many of them will be up Whitey's standard, I'm sure. the artist in her will probably reject a fair few!

Finally the time came when that important call came thru - the akid ceremony started. The duaas were read - and then while KayBee was clutching Whitey's hand and I was holding Mama's it was over. Whitey's soft whisper "its done" confirmed it for me. A lot of hugs, slight tears on my part and mabruks later - it still hadnt sunk in. My girl was now a married woman!

More dancing and partying. Food, glorious food! :-)

Then the notice from Baba that the men were coming - ahhh the panic of a hijabi seperated from her hijab. Aint nothing like it. A flock of women raced upstairs for their scarves etc. Whitey came with us - all the time wishing, loudly, that she too cud put on her hijab :-) sorry whitey.

Then the moment came. An anxious peek round the corner and the groom entered. hugs were exchanged and smiles. And the bride and groom sat together. Awwwww! lol

There was cake. There were drinks. There were about a million fotos taken. We had a laugh. I almost had a cry. Everyone looked grand. Then we all went home and left them to it.

and that is the day WhiteLibyanAfrican got hitched.
