A busy weekend

I am sooooooo tired!!

But its a good kind of tiredness (is there such a thing?!)

On Friday I stayed over at Whitey's house to help out and if needed, support her through her henna. And on Saturday was the big day - her henna. She wore a traditional Libyan outfit and she looked gorgeous Masha'allah. I was so proud of her - she had worked so hard (and so diplomatically) to get this far - and I saw through her experiences that getting married is even harder than I thought!
Everyone at the henna looked gorgeous and no one can say Muslim women dont know how to have fun - cos we rocked!ok so the older Arab ladies had a propensity to take over - regardless of what the bride may want but hey, they were friends of the mother of the bride - who am I to gainsay them?! :-)

Anyways I enjoyed my best friend, my sister's wedding and I wish her all the happiness and blessings in the world.

On Sunday I moved to my new flat from my old dumpy bedsit - God knows I was tired even before I attempted this with the help of dad. I had spent the night at Khal's and we hadnt realised that the clocks were jumping an hour ahead until 1.30am turned to 2.30am in front of our tired eyes!!
Even then by the time we got to sleep it was 3 - 3.30am! I dont know how people stay out late and go clubbing till this time every weekend - I swear I am too old for this staying awake that late shit! lol

I woke up the next morning and finally managed to roll out of bed by about 10.30ish. Then Shules bless her heart dropped me off home so I could rush around packing and washing and packing and packing - till the time came to make the numerous rounds to get it all into the van dad had borrowed off a mate.

Then we picked up Hasan, I grabbed 2 oranges as lunch and we drove to the new place. then the cycle began to unload everything.

So our new flat looks decidedly messy - with stuff spread all over the place. But slowly but surely I will turn it into a home. A pretty home at that. Mine.
