Politics

It seems it doesn't matter where I go, or where I work or where I volunteer - its all bogged down in politics. Politics of the mind, politics of personalities, politics of organisations, institutions, countries and races.... politics, politics, more bloody politics.

I am sick of the fact that people, Muslims, cannot seem to be able to look beyond themselves to their future. That they are constantly cutting their nose to spite their face.

A Muslim is supposed to be humble. A Muslim is supposed to NOT be arrogant. A Muslim is supposed to want for his/her brother what they want for themselves... so where is this sentiment is our communities??? Where is the sisterly/brotherly love? Where is the love for the ummah?

All I sometimes see is strife, the striving for personal gain and aclaim. What should be done for the sake of Allah, for the greatness of His ummah is instead done for personal gratification and glory.

Personal power-plays have no place in a Muslims life. So what if your great deeds and your sacrifices have gone unnoticed? Allah knows - and He's the only one that counts.

I hate the fact that working with other Muslims is souring me to Islamic work because most of them cannot seem to get into gear, nevermind actually reaching the 21st century! They are embroiled in petty power struggles at work, casting blame, behaving immaturely, playing the race game, and the game I name "The friend of my friend is who I'm going to employ!" - because of course, what matters is that we keep our friends happy, not that the Ummah progresses or that progress is made. Oh yeah.

I worked hard to acquire the knowledge I have. And I am in unenviable position of being in an unenviable position (screwy, huh?!). Islamically, I worked hard - i am nowhere near being a good Muslim, nevermind a perfect one....... but the first step towards solving a problem is knowing there is one. But many Muslims prefer to bury their heads in the sand and create some other minute, tenny-tiny, insignificant detail to argue about instead.

HELLO??!!?!? I'd just like to point out - OUR UMMAH IS BEING TORTURED TO DEATH!

How can u be so imbecilic?

And a certain organisation I have been working with and have dedicated much time to, and have loved, is becoming more and more arabcentric, which is annoying as HELL cos this is Britain!!!

When will people understand - Islam is about moving forward and embracing all that is good?
