starvation unnoticed

I just had the yummiest chicken burger - with chips - just what my body was craving... carbs, grease, chicken.....mmmm.

Now I feel like throwing up; not because I ate too much. And not because the food was too greasy. Nope - cos I watched this on AlJazeera:



Somalia's starving children.

How can anyones heart not ache and their eyes stay dry when they see those skeletal babies? Those babies that lie so still in their hopeless, helpless mothers arms???

How can u not want to run and protect these innocent, innocent babies? Wallahi my heart absolutely aches in pain and i want to shout out to the international community as they stand by and do nothing.

We attack countries on false pretenses, arrest innocent grad students, hold people without charge for days on end, supply the world with arms - instead of causing war in the name of peace why cant we just help the innocent and the helpless???

Why not supply food and medicines? Those babies are starving - I'm sure dozens have died since I started writing this blog. For Gods sake people - can u not feel the urgency?

What if this was your baby? your young brother or sister? you own flesh and blood - would u still stand around and wait for endless, useless bureaucracy? You who cud not even wait to have the Iraq war ratified by the UN?? If you felt such urgency going to war to defend the ones who could possibly die - how can u not then feel the urgency for those who are dying RIGHT NOW?!

O Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Kind, the Most Just - please have mercy on these children and these families - give them sabr and aid them in their time of need.
