What a weekend.... it was nice having one of my girlies down in London. Nice to spend time with someone who knows me that well. We did so much, yet not as much as we wanted.
We first went to Camden Town. For those of you who live in Manchester, its like Aflex Palace a couple of years ago... you know a hang-out for goths and mochers. I love places like this. It has shops and a famous market. Its full of colourful characters and good shopping. LW, i think, loved the shopping. You can find the most amazing things here. Also things you rather didnt exist or never thought would... Cannabis incense is an example of that later category. The funniest thing is that all the goth stalls or shops are owned by middle-ages asian men that should, realistically, own corner shops! Its really bizzare, or atleast I find it weird. LW was especially enamoured of the furniture shops and stalls, and I have to agree there was some amazing stuff there. We found out dream bed; a beautiful teak sleigh bed (it even had storage for all my junk!). It was so beautiful I didnt want to leave it behind! But it was about £998 out of my budget, seeing as it cost £999!But hey! A girl can dream.... and this girl is dreaming of owning that bed! Also we found our reading chairs, chairs absolutely perfect for reading or dreaming in. :)
We went to Portobello Market, which is mainly for antiques and jewelry. Its such an interesting
place, full of weird and wonderful characters. Me and LW met one such colourful lady who said she had been trying to die for many years by catching Amoebic dysentry! By drinking "out of wells no one would let their dogs drink out of!". Me and LW found her hilarous; sat infront of her stall of jewelry and jewelry pieces, clad in bright colours, frizzy hair flying about, a cigarette dangling from two fingers, her mouth a reddish slash in her wrinkled face.... It is these people that make marketssuch interesting places to go to, this and the colourful things, treasures, you find there. We did so much this weekend, to tell it all would bore you... plus maybe LW will write some of it in her blog too, so it might become repetetive.
What I can say is one of these shopping days we got caught out in the rain. I'v already blogged about it, but its worth mentioning again.
LW left yesterday (awwwww!), she left me, abandoned me
