This is the front page of The Independent today - The Bitter Legacy of 9/11. So much has happened since that day that it can be hard to take it in.... 5 years since it happened and thanks to the neo-con government in power in the US the world has now become a place of fear and death. The actions of a few on that fateful day, and the reactions of a few have changed the lives of millions round the world. Did they know this would happen? Together they are responsible for the death and suffering and trauma of millions - do they understand what they have cost humankind?According to the facts and figures states in The Independent 2,973 ppl died in those towers. 2,932 men and women have died in Afghanistan and Iraq from the US army. Hmmm.... makes u think - Georgey has killed almost the same number of people again to avenge those killed in the 2 towers. Make any sense?????
Ok we aint even counting the casualties of this crappy "War on Terror" that were civilians!
According to The Independent:
72,000 Estimated number of civilians killed worldwide since September 11, 2001 as a result of the war on terror.Umm..... last time I check 200,000 people had died in Iraq alone - are we not counting that well??? Or are we ignoring everyone with, say, black hair?!?!?!?
Its been 2 Number of years since US intelligence had any credible lead to Osama bin Laden's whereabouts! 2 years! well, I'm not surprised - I woudnt trust Georgey... well, with anything! And Dickey C - well he shoots his friends... so... yeh well.... The thing is.... this guy, Osama, was trained by you, armed by you, taught tactics by YOU... so he knows what ur gonna do -and then he will justl avoid it! hell... its working - obviously his intelligence agency is a sight more efficient than the one the US is using. Isnt that worrying in itself?!
More on the point: 0 Hours of intelligence training provided to new FBI agents before 9/11. Now they get 24. Wow! A whole 24 hrs training - be still my heart! Now they will definately catch Osama and his gangs... only, no wait. Its not working.....
But regardless of the crapness of the US intelligence agency and its blatant lack of success (which, its possible, isnt crap at all - but no one really listens to it and Bush and the rest make it up as they go along) ..... regardless of this all, this is the result:
There are at this time 455 Number of detainees at Guantanamo Bay. Thats 455 men and women who are being tortured day after day, suffering - who have their human rights stripped from them.
Right Christian of u Mr Bush - bring on the Crusades.... ahh the good old days pappy!
Oh, I'm sorry - do I sound a tad bitter? I do apologise... but u see... its the futility and the hopelessness of it that I cant stand. What will be achieved by this - nothing! Its the Butterfly Effect and Sept 11th was what set it off as far as the US is concerned. Ofcourse, some of us have memories longer than 5 years - but anything the suposed "al-Qaeda" have done, I think Mr Bush has topped rather spectacularly.
I am, personally sick of all the killing. Sick of all the hate. Sick of it all. Truly, we are a violent, hate-filled nation - us humans. When Allah completed His message to the Muslims He told us that He has made us the "highest of the high" and warned us that we could sink to be "the lowest of the low" -what could be lower than taking a human life? A mother, a daughter, a father, a son, a brother???
My heart cries out for all the innocent dead, and I cant help but ask "Mr Bush, Mr Blair - how are u any different from Osama bin Ladin ( as u have protrayed him)? U claim he terrorises nations, so do you. You claim he kills innocents, so too do you. You claim he is an extremist, so too are you. He is your mirror, Mr Bush and Mr Blair. If he is a monster, so too are you. So wherein lies any difference?"

Anyway...about the post...loved this; "...be still my heart" LOL you crack me up, you should be a comedienne (feminine version of comedian 'cause you're not a bloke :-) ).
You're totally right though, the killing is senseless and disgusting and every murderer is the same...there is no justification for taking the life on an innocent person whether it is purposely (which actually DOES happen, e.g. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/5022380.stm ) or as "collateral damage"; code name for "we aim at this spot and so if we kill innocent people it's not our fault because they were there, in their houses, in their schools, at work in their country, on their land where they SHOULDN'T have been when we decided to wage war! I mean, du'h! How thoughtless and inconsiderate of them, they deserve to die(!)"
Collateral damage in order words = we don't give a toss who we kill.
I personally think that is possbly more dangeous than intending to kill someone innocent. Because when you INTEND to kill someone, you programme yourself to hate them so you can do such a despicable deed. For example, the Nazis brainwashed themselves into hating Jews, and the Japenese brainwashed themselves into hating the Chinese and hence it justified their extermination of these people.
But "collateral damage", you don't have to hate anybody at all, you just bomb and shoot and fight and if you hit an innocent civilian, oh well, "oops!" Just total indifference and lack of care. People without consciences and thought and morality and compassion. People full of evil.
May Allah (SWT) protect us and all the Ummah from the evil of this world.

And yes,killing is senseless and I agree, "collatoral damage" is another way of saying "we dont give a s**t!". Imagine if the 9/11 terrorists or Bin Ladin turned round and said, hey our aim was the Twin Towers, the people in it were "collatoral damage" -my bad!
uh huh, the world wud go mad with anger and outrage.
But hey, Arab lives are just not worth as much as American lives.
