peace remain

Sometimes the lyrics of a song just grab your attention - the songwriter seems to be speaking with some deep emotion within you; sometimes its not even something you are familiar with. And yet the poetry of the words draw you in and speak to you on some elusive level that connects you with the song.

There is such a song in my life at the moment and I cannot stop listening to it - something inside me understands it even if my logic does not.

Peace Remain by Kareem Salama

"In your love I will wash away a thousand wounds
And at last find the end of all these I's with You

In my heart do I carry so much pain and grief
From what I've seen in this world and what you've seen from me

(chorus)
But let me put all that aside and think of you until I'm blind
And though the world will never change
In you will my peace remain

Many roads have I travelled just to find no end
And many times have I looked to all the lands I've been

But it's all the same cause its no where at all
Try and try as I might I only stand to fall

(chorus)

Some may laugh at the tears I rain
A rose is a rose by any other name
And some may think I've gone insane
So I draw my dagger and I sleigh my name

(chorus)

In you will my peace remain."

Its not just the lyrics that draw me but the way he sings it..... its like the words are born from his vocal chords - will all the emotion and pain that the song requires.

No bland piece of music would be justified here.

Its like every time I listen to it I am so close to reaching some kind of understanding or meaning - but i never quite get there........
