This is one of the few conflicts involving Muslims where I have seen reporters openly showing where their sympathies lie; where they have actively sided with the Muslims; and atleast in this case they have sided with the side of justice.

I am in no way suggesting the side of the Muslims is always right, or even usually right - its not. Blatantly not. But I was sick of seeing reporters vomiting out the same rhetoric, siding with the same mighty nations of the world, completely ignoring what is fair and/or what is just.

This time though I can finally just watch the news and not scream at the TV in frustration at what used to be slanted reporting. Although I read in one blog: "The only channel that gives anything approaching balanced reporting is Fox News." Ahem. Yeh right. Like Fox would know news if it jumped up and bit their butt; hell news could run away with their freakin butt and they still wouldnt recognise it for what it was.

Meanwhile,
Jon Snow has been on fire! He has courageously shown which side he is on - and has probably done more to defend the rights of those civilians in Lebanon and Palestine in the last couple of weeks than most Muslims!
Finally, the media is showing some objectivity. Before, if anyone so dared to say 'boo!' to Israel, you wud immediatly hear them being labelled anti-semetic or Judophobic (?); the same rhetoric of how the Jews have suffered since the beginning of time would come spilling out, fingers would be pointed at the West, reminding them how they allowed the Holocaust to happen - reminding them of their guilt.
As far as I am concerned, Israel is a country and is liable for its actions as one. If someone is anti-semetic that is another matter entirely - and racism is ugly in all its forms, and just as destructive. Being anti-Israel however is just another political view; like how some people are anti-immigration. Anti-Israel does not equal anti-Jew.
Its time I think Israel admitted that its responsible for its actions - and took it on the chin, excuse the term, like a man. I wish it would stop hiding behing the 'oh I'm a Jew and have suffered and been oppressed for centuries' excuse.
Come one Ya Yahuud! You have an amazing and vibrant culture, an extremely well-knit community, you have opportunities and chances like everyone else - move on. Yes injustices have been done to your communities but others have suffered equally if not more too.

Just today I was watching a report on Congo. 1200, yes, 1200 people DIE there every day! 25,000 women were raped last year in East Congo alone!
Those stats are staggering. More people have died in the war in the Congo than the losses and deaths accounted to all the countries and nations in WW2!!
Where was the news this was happening?? Where is the aid?

Meanwhile today, Hezbollah managed to kill 9 Israeli soldiers - May God have mercy on their souls. All, Muslims and Jews.
And what was the death toll in Lebanon due to Israeli fire? 30? 40?50?! Altogther 400 deaths in Lebanon. All those murders - yes, I'm gonna term it murder. How can human life be termed collatoral damage?? (yet the israelis and americans do)
Unless Israeli's term the lives of their citizens as collatoral damage too. In that case the man Hamas abducted, the two men Hezbollah abducted are forfeit as collatoral damage in a war that started when Israel invaded Palestine. When it took Palestinian and Lebanese prisoners and held them without charge, detained them, even killed some. When Israel kidnapped half of the Palestinian government - thats an act of war in itsef!

And btw, what are the Muslims and the so-called Muslim, even Arab, countries doing?
They are not even throwing a hissy fit! Cat got ur tongues? I challenge the Arab states and Muslim states to offer something more than cowardice and tears - offer something that matters. Aid, money, doctors, nurses. And most importantly, apply pressure for justice. Stop trade. Stop oil. Stop the flaming CLOCKS! Get up of ur rich, spoilt backsides and behave like men.
Israel claims the right to self-determination, and by God they are exorcising that right - what the hell is stopping u guys?!?!

And a final thought, did you know Iraq has pledged more aid to Lebanon now than the USA?!
What a laugh!
