Ahhhh the fun begins. We drove down to Picton, a little town of about 4000 people spread over vast quantities of land. A beautiful place, surrounded by picturesque lakes and great spaces and greeness. On the way to visit Queens Uni, in Kingston, the old capital of Canada we went visiting some pretty places :-D

These lakes and their surroundings were so serene and beautiful, Wallahi I could have lived there!
Me, Saniyah and Madiha (cousins) enjoying the sunshine and the lake!
I went a bit crazy over the landscape, which I cannot describe, it was so very pretty!
Yes well.... sometimes u just have to take some photos!
Pretty pretty! The water was so clear it was amazing. And my cousins were telling me the whole thing just freezes over in winter and they go skiing and have their winter sports on the lakes! how cool is that?!
Yes well, if I had my way, I'd spend a LOOOOOOOOOONG time here!
I convinced them that hugging trees was a good thing. I hugged the trees too but will not be revealing those pics to the public! lol
On the ferry across the lake... gorgeous. I was so lucky with the weather, Alhamdulillah
My chauffeur, Madihah!
The ferry we took across the lake - notice the British flag! That got me excited!
See....the craziness runs in the family and shows no respect for borders and/or mileage! lol
When we did get to Kingston, this is one of the first things we spotted while walking around. A hanging camel.... they why of it we never did understand, BUT we didnt want to miss the foto opp!

Some Kingston architecture.

More lake..... on the way to Kingston. The town itself is actually close to the lakes. A very pretty town surrounded by some stunning countryside.

Me and my Canadian tour guide, May Allah reward her for her efforts!
So on the way back to Toronto I made my cousins take a detour and take me to a Native American Reservation. It was very disappointing; not only was there no bows and arrows but all there was really was a gas pump. Basically, the Natives have been reduced to selling their culture as a tourist attraction - so thats what there was. A tourist shop. Nothing much else to see - I found it really sad. Nevertheless, I made them take pics. Had to force them to pose... lol, wat else are older cousins for?!
The ZOO:
Ok so while in Toronto, my second last day, I wanted to check out the zoo. I havn't been to the zoo since I was a little girl.... and well, I don't know, I just wanted to. So we made it into a family outing, which was cool. The weather was beautiful, and it was great to watch a family at work, my cousins and their parents. Its how I'd imagine a family works; mom and pops (!) take their kiddies for a day out, so what if my cousins were hitting their 20s?! Still, it was kinda cool to see the normality of it. To watch Saniyah and Zubair exchanging colourful insults and comparing each other to certain animals; watching their parents blissfully ignore them. The memory still makes me grin.
I ofcourse had to take pics of the tigers - they were gorgeous and sooooo very cute! Just wanted to give them a huge cuddle! We got to watch some cubs play.... the cuteness level was very high.
Ahh yes - the cousins, Saniyah and Zubair. Bless 'em! It took 6 pics to get one where Zubair has anything resembling a smile.... the guy just doesn't know how to get a pic taken! :-)
Uhum... need I say more?! It was just there (couldn't resist!) lol
We couldnt figure what the hell it was... kinda like a panda crossed with an Anteater. Weird.
This chimp just lay next to the glass and sunbathed. It was so human looking, and every so often she'd look up and me and wink! lol
We bonded. This little monkey was so cute and so desperate to touch us and that we just coudn't resist. So we did the ET thing and touched our forefingers together. Cutey.
Well how many girls can say they have sat in an Orangutans lap?!
Saniyah's personal favourite... the elephants. For her, this was the trip. They are amazing creatures though, with eyelashes to die for!
