I have never seen a Muslim movie or a movie about Islam that even compares to this one. This is in a league of its own. Telling the story of the beginnings of Islam in such a simple and..... whats the word???..... comprehensible, distinct, and patent way.
I just came out from sitting in our overgrown weed-ridden back garden where the wind blew in the most relaxing and exhilarating way... what was I doing in the back garden? Playing scrabble with the girls of course!!! I love that game. AND I actually win at it, mostly. Well I have won every single time I have played it with my housemates! Yay for me! lol
Pictures from Canada will be posted soon... as promised!
Right now tho, I smell something amazing from the direction of the kitchen...............

That is a movie of a movie if I may say so Kitty. I think this movie is beloved to muslims because it does not depict the Prophet SAW in any way or form. I adore the directing and acting that went into this film. Was it anthony quinn who plays Umar RA?
Glad we share this in common eh?
he played Hamza (RA), uncle of the Prophet (SAW). Not only was the Prophet (SAW) not depicted in the movie, but neither were any of the Kaliphas.
I adore this movie! I think the reason the Muslims love this movie is also because it is so faithful to the truth of the story and the emotions it illicited in those who lived at the time.
great movie, the director produced some great movies like this one and the lion of the desert, but also a classic horror halloween yeh man.
