MOonlight...

More star-gazing tonight... except it was moon-gazing. Subhanallah, the moon is so incredibly beautiful. Its hard to describe the wonder I feel when I look through that telescope see the moon through the lens. Its a silvery-grey haloed fixture in the sky, with crators and cracks. Ok, so not exactly attractive sounding but in some weird way, that scarred surface is attractive. Its awe-inspiring. To think men have walked across its surface, something millions of miles away.... well, WOW!
هُوَ الَّذِي جَعَلَ الشَّمْسَ ضِيَاء وَالْقَمَرَ نُورًا وَقَدَّرَهُ مَنَازِلَ لِتَعْلَمُواْ عَدَدَ السِّنِينَ وَالْحِسَابَ مَا خَلَقَ اللّهُ ذَلِكَ إِلاَّ بِالْحَقِّ يُفَصِّلُ الآيَاتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَعْلَمُونَ

10:5 "He it is who has made the sun a [source of] radiant light and the moon a light [reflected], and has determined for it phases so that you might know how to compute the years and to measure [time]. None of this has God created without [an inner] truth. Clearly does He spell out these messages unto people of [innate] knowledge."

So there it is....

As a flipside to all this spirituality and deep contemplation - my housemates and I have stayed up till 4am playing poker - thats 4 hours of poker! Nothing else. Nothing but poker.

And the only reason it ended was because me and Lamseeboo took foolish risks, so that the game could end. Otherwise, we would all have still been sat there, playing on, probably for the rest of the night/morning.

Now I can hear the birds chriping as I type this. In 2 hours the sun will rise, and it will officially be a whole new day. Nice - except I'll be asleep. Deep, deep asleep......
