As planned we went ot see Omid Djalili at the BBc studios in London last night. Firstly the BBC studios are really weird , not weird weird, but weird in the sense that once you step in through the gates, its like a "BBC world" - with its own cafes, bars and shopping area!! Very weird - I wonder if there are people there that don't ever leave therefore require shops and diversions?!
Anyways wen we went they were also filiming Dead Ringers and Top of the Pops - so people were going in for that too.
The studio itself was full of cameras but other than that not too impressive - which made me glad I hadnt let my imagination run away, cos it was pretty much what I had expected. The show itself was really good, though they were sketches I thought were not as good as some of his other material. He is very up-to-date, and makes relevent politcal jokes... which are actually very good. Though I am glad there were no Americans in the audience!
One thing I discovered about him which I hadnt known before is he also has an extremely dirty sense of humour - which, thankfully, he doesnt use as part of his shows.And when I say dirty - I mean filthy. I was surprised, and he made fun of that too - saying theings like ' ahhh, u guys came thinking I was a good boy, not like this!'. The really shocking thing for me wasnt the dirty humour (after all he is male!) but the fact that his sister, father and son were in the audience and some of his dirty humour was directed at his son! This disappointed me - it was one of the reasons he was one of my fave comics - cos he kept a relatively clean mouth.
Men!
I have to say - his belly dancing (!) is impressive. Lol

is he that iranina dude that jokes around about his country? if so the best thing about him is th ebelly dancing otherwise he tries to hard
