A busy weekend
I am sooooooo tired!!
But its a good kind of tiredness (is there such a thing?!)
On Friday I stayed over at Whitey's house to help out and if needed, support her through her henna. And on Saturday was the big day - her henna. She wore a traditional Libyan outfit and she looked gorgeous Masha'allah. I was so proud of her - she had worked so hard (and so diplomatically) to get this far - and I saw through her experiences that getting married is even harder than I thought!
Everyone at the henna looked gorgeous and no one can say Muslim women dont know how to have fun - cos we rocked!ok so the older Arab ladies had a propensity to take over - regardless of what the bride may want but hey, they were friends of the mother of the bride - who am I to gainsay them?! :-)
Anyways I enjoyed my best friend, my sister's wedding and I wish her all the happiness and blessings in the world.
On Sunday I moved to my new flat from my old dumpy bedsit - God knows I was tired even before I attempted this with the help of dad. I had spent the night at Khal's and we hadnt realised that the clocks were jumping an hour ahead until 1.30am turned to 2.30am in front of our tired eyes!!
Even then by the time we got to sleep it was 3 - 3.30am! I dont know how people stay out late and go clubbing till this time every weekend - I swear I am too old for this staying awake that late shit! lol
I woke up the next morning and finally managed to roll out of bed by about 10.30ish. Then Shules bless her heart dropped me off home so I could rush around packing and washing and packing and packing - till the time came to make the numerous rounds to get it all into the van dad had borrowed off a mate.
Then we picked up Hasan, I grabbed 2 oranges as lunch and we drove to the new place. then the cycle began to unload everything.
So our new flat looks decidedly messy - with stuff spread all over the place. But slowly but surely I will turn it into a home. A pretty home at that. Mine.

thoughts and the cuteness of kids
Sometimes someone else says it better and so I'll just copy and paste, literally, wat they said:
Just saw this and had to share it with my blog - the kids are so so very cute!
Sometimes a smile is all the difference

crapness
This is gonnabe a stupid blog because basically all I have to say is I am feeling like shit, and I am stressed and I can see everything starting to unravel right in front of me and I dont know wat to do about it.
The last couple of weeks have been great - they have been fun, and a lot less stressful than my life usually is. The darkness receeded for a while and I was happy. Happier than I have been in a long time. I have done so much in the last couple of weeks, been so much more relaxed than I have been for ages, I have been to a Man Utd match at Old Trafford (thanks K!), I have seen old friends and begun flat hunting (finally) with my dad.
But now it all feels horrible and I feel so trapped by fate. It just seems so sad that just wen everything was starting to go well I can see the possibility of everything unravelling. Dammit!
It makes me wanna scream and rage and hurt someone at the hopelessness of it all. Do I sound melodramatic? Well I dont give a fuck! (Does this constitute as me talking to myself??) I hate feeling so low and so very hopeless and despairing but that is how I feel. I cannot help it.
I have taken A LOT of time off from my job in the last few months due to a leg injury that isnt healing and can be not only terribly inconvenient but very painful as well. We are gonna get reviewed at work and I dread hearing what I may get told. Its not even so much fear of losing my job or getting into a lot of trouble at work (though the fear is there) - its more about disappointing people at work that I have come to admire, making their life difficult and I just dont want there to be any awkwardness in our relationships.
Oh God, help!

so many colours...
Its funny how when the sun is out the heart immediatly cheers and hope suddenly appears.
All winter I wait for spring and summer - there is something so magical about the first few days of spring. In the clarity of the air, the freshness of the morning, the sparkle of the dew on the grass, the warmth and softness of the sun's rays on the skin, especially the feel of the sun on the skin and the feel of the fresh wind in your hair.
These last few days have been wonderful in Manchester, though cold the sun has been shining and the air has had a fresh clean feel to it. And my whole life suddenly seems so much more hopeful.
All winter I have battled with depression and dark thoughts. In the dark and dank cold of this past winter I have felt like all hope was being extinguished inside me and my life held very little to offer me. I felt all the hurt of years past pressing down on me and crushing me. Often it was hard to bear thinking at all under the weight of it all.
I hate self-pity and cannot stand those who wallow in it; people who constantly feel sorry for themselves and do little to improve their situation annoy and aggravate me. Yet this winter I felt myself on that slippery slope of self-pity though I have to say I did not stop trying or at least trying to try (!).
But sometimes, sometimes it was just too much. The temptation of crawling into bed and pulling the covers over my head and fading away got too much and I'd just drift in the misery of my thoughts.
I hated it. And in hating those feelings that were such a huge part of my thought process at the time, I started to hate myself.
I have never felt such hopelessness.
To be a Muslim is to hope. To be at peace; doing what is right and avoiding the wrong and most of all, living. By these feelings I felt like I was betraying the core of my belief, to above all trust in God. Of course, this started a whole new line of pity.
I had no idea how to pull myself out of that viscious cycle, to start hope afresh. I wanted to be positive - I wanted to know that after all this hardship there would be ease. But hope, always fragile was elusive in those cloudy winter months.
And yet
as the sun shines, hope once again blooms that God is here and He loves me like no other. He has brought me spring again, and with it pretty white blossoms like candy floss on a stick. He has brought me liquid gold and childrens laughter I can appreciate. He has blessed me with gentle breezes and peace in my heart.
It is a gift my heart can barely contain - I have hope for my future again. And relief - relief that darkness has receeded for now.
I can smile, I can laugh and I can be 25 and appreciate it.
Hell, I'm actually happy being 25, though mildly incredulous as to how I got here.
I even had a 25th birthday party which I threw in the hall where I work with some close friends, junk food and loud music. there was wild fun, wilder dancing and lots of laughs.
Roll on the summer!

birthdays and saving ur own life
Last night was.... interesting. My last night at a 24 year old. And to celebrate this I went out with Kirsten, and while the evening steadily went on we made some pretty bad choices. Still it was a laugh.... just thinking about it makes me smile now.
I was in the most bizarre mood yesterday. I wanted to do something to celebrate but I just couldnt decide on what. Everything that was suggested or I thought of just didnt seem right, it didnt seem to fit. I just knew I wanted to do something.
So I managed to squeeze in a coffee at Nero's while waiting for Kirsten, a meal at Tai Wu with her, a movie (more about that later), a hurried walk to the train station with Kirsten being stalked by a tramp (hilarious!), lobbing lit cigarettes at some random guy's head (by Kirsten) and a wait for the train, a quick yet expensive taxi ride home and a deep and disturbed sleep.
Whew!
Ah yes, the movie: what can be said about this movie. It was the most apallingly, horrifyingly God-awful movie I have EVER seen. We just couldnt get over how abismally bad it was. I do not have enough adjectives in my thesaurus to convey how very very BAD this movie was.
And yet we later discovered that this extremely pathetic movie, which by the way wasted over 2 HOURS of our time, was given a fair few good reviews! WTF were they watching?!?!?
SO people if you have any concern for your own sanity and do not want to lose 2 hours of your life in the most pathetically boring and tedious of ways, do yourself a favour and do NOT go see Before the Devil Knows Your Dead.

books
Argh! I just went on Amazon to cancel an order of books - which really REALLY SUCKS! A girl can never have enough books and the fcat that I had to cancel an order of books really hurts!
I know it doesnt seem like a big deal to many people out there but to me it is. Books are the breathe of life to me - I read everyday atleast for a couple of hours - I cannot imagine NOT reading everyday. I cannot survive without books and reading.
Books are a world apart; they offer so much. Alternative worlds, alternative experiences, alternative characters and personalities, knowledge and wit... its all there.
When I see books I like I WANT them, I could say I need them but that may make me sound just a tad obsessive! But seriously, books are essential to me.
I have a WishList of something like 400 books I wanna buy on Amazon and the list seems to go grow and never shrink! There are so many books I want to read that I wish I had enough money and enough time to read them all.
Does this make me sound mad? I hope not because I think what I am saying is perfectly reasonable and I'm sure many other people feel this way - just not many that I know!
Anyway, my point is - I want to go on a shopping spree on Amazon and buy all the books my heart desires and then some. I wanna do this so much it is literally an ache in my heart.... sad isnt it?! But I wish, I wish, I wishhhhh...............

thoughts in my head
This morning the weather was atrocious - really really bad. When you are standing at a bus stop at 7.30am the last thing u want in zero degree temperatures, gale force wings, blindingly cold rain, not to mention thunder and lightening. Yet such was my start to the day today.
And of course, today the bus was late. By the time it arrived I was drenched - somehow water was INSIDE my boots. How is that even possible???
Yet as I stood there in that pre-dawn light, shivering inside my seriously inadequate layers, it occured to me to look up.
Now normally I wouldnt do that - its not a good idea. Rain gets on your face, in your eyes and your face freezes, instantly. Yet today as I looked up I was awed by creation. The street lights shone through droplets of water sheeting down from the sky and turned them a golden amber which against a backdrop of blackness looked like golden diamonds falling from the sky. It occured to me that no matter how inconvenient I may find this rain, no matter how cold or wet or mad it made me, this rain was essential to the Earth; and in some places in the world such rain would be a cause for celebration, a blessing.
Of course this inspired mood lasted till the next prick of a driver splashed me with dirty puddle water while whizzing past in his car! Then the realisation came that my face was frozen! Ugh!
And of course once I was at work with my boots AND my socks drying on the heater in my little cupboard of an office the sun came out and it stopped raining - now what part of that is fair???

lack of sleep
Recently I have found in particularly hard to sleep at night; finding it hard to sleep at night is not a new problem of mine. I think I would be, given the chance, nocturnal.
But recently getting to sleep at a decent time has become a chore in itself - I just cannot get to sleep. And when I do manage to drop off, I'll find myself wide awake again at some ridiculous hour like 3am. I have to be up for work at 6am (ish!)!!
Not only is this whole situation aggravating in the EXTREME but I am now exhausted. My head hurts, my body aches and even my eyeballs hurt to move.
What can I do? What is causing this stupid sleep deprivation? Usually lack of sleep in my life indicates high stress levels - my friends will know all too well how highly stressed my life usually is anyway, therefore the stress must be huge to lose sleep over it. I tend to sleep through most things - its one of main escape mechanisms from the stress. Plus I just love to snuggle up in bed and sleep
Ok so life is particularly shit at the moment - even shitter than normal (which is saying something) and I see no end in sight. Hell, it looks to get much worse.
And maybe its an indicator of my fucked up head or new oncoming maturity but a slow realisation is emerging that things may never get much better than this in life.
After all, since I was 16 my life has been steadily disintegrating.
If I could see an out - I'd take it but I cannot see one.
How does one escape from oneself? how do you escape from yourself, your own memories, your own life?? You don't. There is nowhere to go.
Maybe it is this very depressing realisation that makes me unable to sleep. Problem is, its a viscious circle - the lack of sleep is making me mucho cranky.
The kind of cranky when someone pisses you off you don't think of letting them know you are upset - oh no, you consider jamming screw drivers in their eyes, or using them as target practice with a nail gun, or if someone mouthes off to you, you don't want to caution them, just rip their tongue out or maybe just split it - you know, give them a forked tongue. Ironic methinks.
Anyways - my point is that sleep deprivation is bad. Bad for your mind, your heart and definately for those big honking black bags under your eyes that need to be gone by the wedding your going to in 2 days!

Rage
Rage - what is it? What defines it?
Rage is in my life. Sometimes, like now, it flows like a river in my mind. Permeating it with bitterness, irritation, fury - a boiling, seething rampage of violence within the confines of my mind.
"Strange is it not, that of the myriiads who,
before us passed the door of darkness too
Not one returns to tell us of the road,
which to discover. we must travel too."
Omar Khayam (from the Rubayait)
It is hard to describe the darkness of feeling to someone not acquainted with it. It is not a nice, tame emotion. It's uncontrollable, storming, raging, tearing, yelling, screaming; its a hate of myself. A hate of what I am and where I am. It is a disappointment in life and dreams.
It takes over. It absorbs into every part of your subconscious. It creates violence in my mind.
Not just because of the sheer violence of the feelings but as in violent thoughts.
Its a "flame of the heart". A desire to strike out, to hurt those who have caused you harm.... to avenge, to revenge...
A hammer to the face, a screwdriver to the eyes, a nail in your hands.... violence spews forth.
It brews in my minds eye as cloudy, distilled thoughts.
It would be so satisfying.
I cannot stop this emotion. It is out of my control. It is has infected my soul - it is part of me. A product of my life's experiences. It has burnt away my innocence and my tranquility. Of this fire I am born.
I turn to my Lord and I weep for what I have become. For what people have made me. For the choices that were made.
How long can I tolerate this emotion? How long before it all implodes?
Did I decide to let rage in? I look back over the course of my life and I hate what I see. Any goodness escapes me and what i see is dark. What I see is disturbed.
This is the part of me I dont want you to see, everyone who will be terrified and hate me. I am strongest in my most devastating hour:
Anger, Venom, Rage
I stand at the edge of this moment, I stand and I have to choose... I scream in my minds eye because the person I am is rage.

There is a devil
Lurking down deep inside
Look close enough
You can see it in my eyes
Filled with pride and anger
Venom and rage
Feels like I'm living life
Trapped in a cage
With outsiders looking in
And pointing at me
Telling me what I'm to do
And who I'm to be
They never lived a life
As f***ked as mine
Never fed themselves
By committing a crime
Now I tighten up
Walk a straight and narrow
But it leaves me feeling
Like a wind blown sparrow
Pride is my best friend
And the anger is a gift
'Cause it keeps me company
And it gives me a lift
The venom is the weapon
That flows from within
And the rage is the words
That come from the pen.
I stand at the edge of this moment, I stand and I have to choose... I scream in my minds eye because the person I am is rage.

what goes aorund....
A lot of my job involved answering the phone and talking to people. And eventually reality kicks in and lets you know... most people are stupid. On top of which, most people do not know how to converse over the telephone or be able to convey the simplest of messages verbally. Why is that? Its not that complicated. You have some excuse if English is not your first language... as it is for many of the people I talk to. Still, and I'm sorry for being snobby or evil or mean about this, but could u please just learn English properly?!?!?
You do live in this country after all. It is the language we speak here. To communicate effectively (if at all) with us you should learn it. At least well enough so you can understand what I'm saying and vice versa.
I find it extremely aggravating and annoying that people often live in this country for years and decades and dont feel the need to learn the language proficiently. Whats wrong with you!??!
That my rant over and done with!

This has been a bizarre time for me, emotionally and life style wise.
I don't really know what I'm doing and am just trying to get through it all. But this is not going to be a self-pity blog - I want to explore why I am the way I am. I want to understand myself - why I am who I am, the way I am.
I do not think I am a great observer or very perceptive.... I am a very straight forward person so these very introspective moods do not happen often yet they are happening more and more.
Is this a sign of growing up? Of maturity? or of growing insecurities? mayb its a sign of an unbalanced mind! :-)
There is so much I do not like about myself - so much I see that needs improving yet day after day, I get thru without having made much of a change, if any at all. Is that normal?
I could be so much better. I could be a much greater person. Yet I am not. And the blame can only be laid at my door. Who else can be blamed?
Of course for some insecurities I can blame someone else... but that is another story.
All my life I have blithely gone on, ignoring or pushing thru. I do not suffer doubts very well and I sure as hell am not much of a deep thinker.
What I am is a needy person I think. Mostly, I need people to like me. That is the first point I'd like to make, the point for today.
I NEED people to like me. It is essential to me. Nothing hurts me and makes me more insecure than someone not liking me for an inexplicable reason. Winds me up!
I am confident, I am funny, I am articulate, I have a broad range of hobbies and interests - are these all really me or a cover I have developed for myself so I will be well liked??
Lately, I do not care so much if someone doesnt like me or if a friend drifts away. But always I am aware, somewhere inside me, there is pain, there is hurt. Was I not nice or interesting enough to be your friend, to be someone in your life? What is wrong with me?
Such insecurity cannot be good for a person - yet they plague me.
I was always sensitive. Perhaps too sensitive. My mother always said I let people hurt me too much and needed to not be so sensitive and I can now see her wisdom.
Very few people out there CARE if they hurt you; everyone is BUSY, busy busy. They have lives, interests, loves.... who are you? Someone they remember now and then? When push comes to shove - will they chose u?!
Sometimes, I have no idea who I am.
But one thing I never EVER doubt is my Islam. Beyond that, I am ALL questions, lol!
Sometimes I am so divided - like there are two of me inside my head and I cannot chose which face I want to wear that day.
Obviously, there is the face that everyone I know would perceive as the good one and the other face, not well known, that springs from the darkest, most horrible, most terrible and painful experiences of my life - this face is not so nice. It is dark, a reflection of the dark within me. A shadow with me, always.
I feel it as stain that will never let me be clean.
Woah - I never meant to write so much.... I guess I have been thinking even more of this than I thought I was!
Does any of this even make sense?!

Facey Facey
Firstly, if you didnt know this already, where have u been? FaceBook is ADDICTIVE!! Mega-mega-super addictive.
Also, Cub Scouts is way cool :-)
We had a big Faith is Fun session hosted by Noor Cub Scouts at Islah Centre and it was a HUGE success. We had about 80 Cubs attending together with lots of Leaders. Everyone, even us Leaders, were very impressed by the turn out and how well it all went. Alhamdulillah everything went smoothly thanks mainly to Melike's amazing hard work! May Allah bless her and Bilal! Also they are moving into their new home - I dont know about them but I'm really excited! lol
It was great to see kids and adults from these three main religions, Christianity, Islam and
Judaism intermingling and having fun. Exploring faith, different faiths, and why it is so important to us all. We had a wudhu station, which Melike, bless her little cotton socks, calls Woodoo (suspicially like Voodoo!)!
We also had the Christian section which had a Vicar doing a talk, wish I cud have heard that! They also did did a Nativity Game which was somehow, not sure how, a relation to Cluedo (??!?!?!?!?).

And of course, we had some Jewish Cub Leaders doing something about Hanaka and playing a game which involved M&Ms (very clever) and a spinning top-thingy. I dont know what it was all about but I wanted those M&Ms!!!! And of course the kids loved it! - hey, who wouldn't, chocolate was involved!
The kids behaved fantastically well - they especially seemed to enjoy wudhu, in fact some of the leaders remarked that they had never seen boys enjoy washing so much! lol I, myself, heard a boy remark that he was gonna tell his mum that he was doing wudhu everyday so he wouldnt have to take a shower every morning!!! Bless!

freak out
I work in a Primary school as secretary/administrator - or at least I do when I can be bothered! :-)
Its a great school with the cutest kids. I really admire what the school has to offer and the great work the teachers do.
The Nursery teachers tend to have the most laughs because 3 year olds are just so funny - they are exploring the world and tend to imitate and repeat everything. So every little thing that happens at home they see and then they come into school and repeat it. Its amazing how much these kids can pick up in moments.
It is part of a 3yr olds personality to imitate and so they will imitate adult relationships i.e. holding hands, kissing, hugging, action heroes.... anything and everything can and will be imitated at some point (so be careful what u do in front of kiddies!).
Anyway, the other week I decided to have a 5 min break in the playground while the Nursery kids were out there playing and having their milk. I was asked by one of the teachers to call out to some of the kids that were playing across the playground. As I did so I felt a pat on my butt - as I looked around ready to punch some weirdo (where this weirdo would have come from, I dont know) I spotted a grinning 3 yr old boy.
"what did u just do?" I asked - frankly shocked.
The kid didnt answer me..... he just grinned up at me and stared.
The freakin kid had just slapped my butt!!! Thats just weird. A 3 yr old!!! Too weird even for me.
I tried to walk across the playground to get back to safety, that is, his teachers! lol but as I made my escape I forgot to pay attention to what the kid was doing so he took the opportunity to cop another feel!!! Bloody hell.
I didnt know whether to laugh or run! lol
When I got back to the teachers they laughed hilariously at my story - and then called him over. Not that he was far away - the child was stalking me!!!!!!
They asked him whether or not he "liked" me - in answer he nodded rather vigorously.
To this day, a week later, I am avoiding this 3 yr old boy who does his best to get close to me and stares at me constantly. It is seriously freaky yet bizarrely funny at the same time.

Funny Muslim Men - how is such a thing possible??!
Yesterday we went to see Allah Made Me Funny - a comedy tour with three stand-up who happen to be Muslims.
It was a great, even fantastic night out for us girls and I am sure for anyone else who went as well. The comedians were hilarious and I was glad to hear new and funny routines. My favourite comedian was a man who was from Palestine and he was hilarious.
He had me in stitches and laughing hard throughout his entire stand up routine. I ws very impressed by the level of comedy and professionalism the three comedians displayed - this was no last minute thing slapped together for our benefit (which is what us Muslims usually do for each other). I was happy not to be disappointed and was glad to spend such an evening in such good company as that as my dear friends.
i hope that we get to meet up and have some more fun soon, Insha'Allah :-)

stupidity
"The Israeli government has approved a request by Ehud Olmert, the Israeli prime minister, to release up to 450 Palestinian prisoners ahead of his meeting with Mahmoud Abbas, the Palestinian president.
The number falls short of the 2,000 prisoners requested by Abbas and represents only a fraction of the 10,000 believed to be held by Israel." Al-Jazeera English
10, 000!!! 10,000 human beings that have had no access to lawyers or any kind of just legal system. 10,000 people who have not had access to their families and homes. 10,000 who may never see the light of day again.
I do not know why people cannot see the blatant hypocrisy and two-facedness of the US and Israel regimes. It sickens me to live in a world that can hold such people.
Palestine is a topic I could talk about forever and I wish people would give it the attention it deserves. Because as long as the world sits back and lets governments do what they wish without fear of reprisals we will keep getting repeats of mass genocides like Sabra and Shattilla, like Bosnia, like Kosovo, like Darfur.....
What are the world leaders doing about these cases of human suffering? Nothing. Nothing substantial at least - they mouth of platitude as fast as they can fill their lungs with air to speak yet their actions do not follow their words. The do not practice what they preach and human suffering becomes a sickness, a "casualty" of the great race to make money and be powerful.
Men.
On Friday we were supposed to have a certain channel come do some filming at the school as the school has won an award at their event.
The cameraman/men were supposed to arrive at 11.30 and instead arrived at around 2.30pm. No apologise, minimal explanations offered. As a professional organisation, a school we had informed the channel that we could not allow filming beyond a certain time due to another event taking place.
The Director of this channel called the school and tried to blame us for everything! He was rude, insulting, arrogant and down right irritating down the fone. He refused to listen to anything I had to say, though I was being extremely polite; he accused us of being uncooperative and threatened to bad-mouth us on his channel!!!
I was shocked that someone perceived as an upstanding leader of the Muslim community could be so hypocritical and speak so rudely to a Muslim sister in islam - who was just trying to a)do her job and b) not kill him.
I am sick to death of incompetent Muslim men running everything! They cant do anything right!
I have been a part of numerous Muslim organisations and each and every one of those had men in charge and each and everyone of those men let me down, let the Ummah down and downright disappointed me with the unIslamic attitudes that they have. They think they are so religious but their religion is their pride and their pomposity.
They piss me off. If you cant do a job right, with fairness, justice, equality, politeness and true Islamic ethos then step back and let us women do it - cos I guarantee I cud do ur job better. At the very least, I'd be honest enough to stand up and say when i couldnt cope or if there was something I couldnt do.
Men I find bungle on cos they cannot stand to say they cannot do something - so instead they blame you for it.
I read the stories of the Prophets and their companions and I wonder, where have men like these gone? Why are they no longer like this? Why are men such pansies nowadays?
They cannot stand up properly for their religion, for their country, for their identity, for their families......... what can they do?
Why is it that when I look around me I see the sisters on the forefronts trying to do everything they can? Trying to sort out Muslim Scouts, trying to organise events, trying to clean up the mess the men make, trying to deal with the raw deal men deal women every day, trying to portray Islam in the best way possible.......... I see the women doing these things. Not men.
Men I see creating problems.

I am so frustrated with the state of the Ummah (muslim nation) today - it makes my blood boil.
What makes it worse is that I dont see any Muslim man. No one who makes the grade. Who inspires me like the sahabah did, with their bravery and intelligence and cleverness.
"Get married" people say to me all the time - as if that will cure all my very numerous problems.
How can I marry when every guy I have ever met has disappointed me when comes down to the crunch???

dixie chicks fight back!
Go Dixie's! Go Dixie's!!!
As many of you may remember a while back the Dixie Chicks exercised their freedom of speech and showed their lack of support for the illegal war in Iraq and George W Bush; many people agreed with them.
Many, all in America, thought that the Dixie's had been unpatriot and therefore......... deserved to die.
A slight overreaction I'd say. But if you want to kill a few women who say something on their minds, in a nice way, and exercise their democratic rights, their freedom of speech then you cannot be the free-loving, democratic people u claim to be. You sure as hell can't say Al-Qaeda is bad - u just put urself in their bracket i.e. wanting to kill people for believing and saying in what u dont. So how can u then claim to be better? Answer is: you can't. You are not any better.
What the girls said was:"Just so you know, we're ashamed the president of the United States is from Texas.”
WoW! Inflammatory statement of the year or what. Immediately they got death threats, obscene phone calls, to the extent where their production deal was canceled.
Bloody hell or what!
Anyway, a year or so they are back and with a song that is amazing, and fights back:

cold
Well - I'm ill again.
My immune system is so shit - tho, alhamdulillah its not as bad as it cud be!
Every cold or flu that comes around... I get it. Which means I spend the majority of winter feeling ill and sorry for myself!
I'm ill now. I was ill a week ago.

And yesterday, I learnt something new. I learnt that coughing and sneezing every minute for 12 hours straight can really REALLY hurt.
Hurt.
I want sympathy and then I want to NOT be ill!
